Turning our House into a Home

We have been living in our house for about 2 months now.  We are enjoying owning our own home, but have been welcomed by a list of never ending tasks that we want to do on the house.  I don’t think you want to know all the things we fixed up or remolded, but here are the big ones:

Remodeling the Kitchen

• Kitchen (cabinets and floor)
• Painted bedrooms downstairs
• Replaced all the windows
• Added extra insulation on the house (attic and crawl space)
• Partial new fence 

Still working on the backsplash.

We got an amazing rebate deal for the windows and insulation that helped us save so much money.  My parents gave us a house warming gift that helped us pay for the work in the kitchen.  (Thanks Mom and Dad!)  If you want to know what the house looked like before, take a look at a previous blog.  Here's what our home looks like now...

The house have 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.  It is an older home that has lots of character to it. The house is in Midvale, a little south of Salt Lake City.  We have a guest bedroom and welcome any visitors.




Uncle Tom came to the rescue with our electrical problems on the house.  He drove down from Washington to help us out.  He surprised us when we got a call on Friday night that he was coming.  He stayed from Saturday to Monday.  He fixed all our our electrical problems.  We are so grateful for the sacrifice he made help us.     

In October Gary translated the music for the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.  He’s so great at what he does.  I get so excited when they ask him to do the music.  Here’s the link.  Make sure you select ASL as the language and show the music at the top.  Then scroll down to Sunday Morning.
